You know it's a bad headwind when you have to pedal to go downhill.

Maybe it's just that I have a chemistry problem set due, maybe it's that I haven't gotten enough sleep lately, maybe it's that you're engaged on one of the most extraordinary things I've ever known someone to do (probably it's all three), but I can't help but think that while I am paying so much money to be where I am, with a bicycle and an open mind you are learning a hell of a lot more about life, the way the world works, and yourself than I ever will.

Did you get to vote?

With my encouragement,
impressed as always,

Your title about the headwind reminds me of a corny joke I just saw on a "Hee Haw" rerun!! "the wind was so strong that a chicken that was standing with her back into the wind laid the same egg 5 times!"

My husband and I like country music and bluegrass, so we have tivo'd a few Hee Haw episodes.

I guess I should let you know who I am! My husband and I attend the Baltimore Shambhala meditation center. I volunteer in the office with your Aunt every week.

Mark - I am on one road, you are on another; we are both living life; we are both learning plenty.
I did vote. I sent my absentee ballot in quite a while ago. I was lucky enough to be staying with my Aunt in Colorado, so I was able to get the good news!

What beautiful country, Alex. You must be burning some serious carbs, though! Keep on truckin'!

Jon- I remember reading somewhere that a person burns 6000 calories biking at a good pace for 6 hours. I'm wondering if that's true.
