You know it's a bad headwind when you have to pedal to go downhill.

Just click on 'comment' and leave a comment. then I can comment back and we'll be conversing like gossipy middle school popular girls in no time. So I took some pictures. I've got the racks on, and now I have been fiddling with the panniers (panniers are the bags hanging off the racks) to get them to fit the way I want to. Teh ones in the front are not really front rack panniers, but they are small enugh, and aftera bit of custom rigging they fit great. For those of you who care( bike nerds unite!), the black panniers are old avenir bags that I bought at a garage sale. The red panniers on the back rack were free from a neighbor, and are old Novara REI bags. Fenders are also a current mission.
Hows everybody doing? So far, from all you friends that have arrived at their respective colleges, I have heard pretty universal stories of boredom. No love children born out of wedlock?! Come on! Live a little!!
On a more practical note, if you have something you want to send me that you don't want to put on the blog for everybody to see, my email is woodcanvas@aol.com. Include your full name in the subject box so I know it's someone I know and not just an unusually crafty viagra ad.

I figured out how to do the picture thing! this isn't a relevant picture, it's my Jupiter single speed when it was about half built, but I needed a picture to test, so here it is. relevant pictures will be coming soon!

preperation and thanks

First off I'd like to thank the wonderful, resourceful, and ever tastefully humorous Mathew Timmons for setting this blog thing up for me. It would have taken me plenty long enough to find out that it was free, much less actually set the blog up. Though it leaves a bad taste in my mouth to say this matt, thanks.
Thank god that's over. On to other business. Other business. Right... To be frank not much has happened besides the addition of racks to my bike, and although this is terrifically exciting for me, I think the excitement of the situation may be lost on some of you. Once I figure out how to include pictures in a post I'll get some on here, but if for some reason you want to se the racks they can be seen, in addition to a bunch of other cool touring gear at the Jandd link.
Lastly, I need to name the bike, and I'm looking for suggestions I realize this may be difficult without pictures, so I'll work on that, but until then, get the creative juices flowing, or at least oozing.
For those of you at college already, how's transition going?
