A request!

Heelloooo out there! It’s been quite a while since i used this here blog, but here we are(me and the 2-3 people that will read this). Tell your friends, (who are also probably my friends) that Alex’s dumb blog is back, and Alex would love everyone to check it out quick to read the following post.

Although my bicycle frame fabrication, repair, and modification business does not yet have a name(suggestions?) i will be moving in to one of two possible spaces next September. I am going to post here a list of stuff i am on the prowl for. This list will include some things i expect to find used easily, and other things i never expect to be able to find used, but i am putting it on the ls just in case. The idea here is that i am looking for benches, bench material, drawers, tools, lights for the ceiling, etc, and am hoping to expand my search for used stuff to all the folks i know. If you have anything on this list and are looking to sell it, let me know. I will of course happily accept donations/help make space in your garage. You also may not even have anything on the list yourself, but know someone who does. Or maybe you know of a business going out of business or a estate sale i should check out... I expect to have to track down most of this stuff myself this spring, summer, and fall, but i thought i might as well just put out the call.

I am looking for...

-light fixtures : fluorescent or incandescent, ceiling mount, bench mount, free standing floor lamp

-tools chests/tools cabinets/workbenches : things that would work for this would include any sort of dresser or office furniture that has lots of smaller drawers. think library-style wood drawers? Any sort of heavy, preferably wood, desky/dressery/armoir things.

-any and all LUMBER. plywood, 2/4s,

- 4/4s, 6/6s, 8/8s, any large wooden posts

- bench vises

-c clamps

-power strips, extensions cords

-general tools, of course. i need lots of pliers

-ball peen hammers

-brass hammers

-scribe tool

-punches

-channel locks,

-vice grips

-side cutters

-metal files, half rounds, flats, needle style, rifflers, jeweler’s

-screwdrivers of all sizes

-adjustable wrenches

-steel scales/ metal rulers

-tape measures

-taps, metric

-drill bits

-letter and number stamping set

-grinders, rotary style instead of angle grinder(like a really big, powerful dremel)

-Dremel

-handheld drill

-dynafile

-bench grinder

-stationary/bench mount belt sander

-drill press

-milling machine

-metal cutting band saw

-metal lathe

-machinists squares

-universal surface gauges

-angle plate

-any and all alignment/fine measuring tools (long shot)

-oxy-acetylene torch equipment

-tig welder

-if you have old tools that you can’t identify, i very well may be interested in them.

--> old tools are the greatest! lots of this stuff is sitting under basement workbenches, in drawers where its been sitting since the 50s. old tools, of all types, sizes, and purposes, are exactly what i am looking for!
