The following is from James Mitchell: "For those of you who wish to send alex stuff through me, my mailing address 9075 Stearns East Hall 600 30th St. Zip code 80310"
I plan to be in Boulder Colorado in roughly 5-7 days (still figuring it all out) Some folks have expressed an interest to send me something, and have an address. Well, here it is. If you wnat me to get what you send, you should send it soon. If you are woried about whether it will get there time, or have questions of any sort, you can always call me at 612-251-0663.
Well, I'm in Hot Springs, and it is not hot. It's friggin cold. I went to the Mammoth Site Museum place and that was pretty sweet. There was this muddy sinkhole thing back in the day and many mammoths fell into it and now you can see there bones and such. Pretty cool. An iteresting fact; all the mammoths in the hole are males. The tour guide pointed this out at least five times.
I will now be heading due south through Nebraska. Devin, I know you share my excitement.
Not much else to say. I'll put some pictures up for ya. If Western Nebraska is anything like central South Dakota, it may be a while before I am able to find a library and post again. Until then, hope everybody is doing well. Thanks for reading.

Firsties!
As I as following your progress on the map it looked like you were going to pass by Nebraska and instead go through that other state (Wyoming) but instead your disappointing not only me but yourself by traveling through the barren land that is Nebraska. But if you are going to commit entertained by the surrounding suicide you mind as well do it in style and go see the following "attractions" in the following "towns":
BIGGEST BALL OF STAMPS-I looked it up and it's no biggest ball of twine but you can find it in Boy's Town, Nebraska directly west of omaha.
and while near Omaha (which is not the capitol btw) be sure to check out such amazing things as the BIRTHPLACE OF MALCOM X and (I'm not even kidding you this was on their tourists web page) a GROTTO NEXT TO A MENTAL HOSPITAL.
VARIOUS KOOL-AID ATTRACTIONS INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TOO!!!) THE BIRTHPLACE OF KOOL-AID AND THE KOOL-AID MAN'S FOOTPRINTS IN CEMENT: These wondrous Kool-Aid attractions can be found in a little ol place called Hastings and it'll almost be like visiting that place where real celebrities put their footprints in cement. I am curious as to how they staged this though, did they get a man to dress up in a giant glass bowl? Or did they stick to a more traditional fuzzy suit (not nearly as kool (see what I did there?)).
There's also a variety of abnormally large and small things such as a TINY POLICE STATION in a small town called Friend. THE WORLD'S LARGEST PLOW (that's the entire world Alex) can be found in the SOD HOUSE MUSEUM in Gothenburg. CARHENGE, a mini recreation of Stonehenge but made of cars can be found in Alliance. CHIMNEY ROCK which is a large rock/large chimney can be found in Bayard. You can even find a POOL IN THE SHAPE OF NEBRASKA (which I consider a miniature Nebraska just more fun seeing as you can swim in the pool) if you decide to venture as far as North Platte.
There is a plethora of museums that you can stop and see including (but not limited too!!!!) MUSEUM OF FUR TRADE in Chadron, the LAVISH MUSEUM OF THE PRARIE PIONEER in Grand Island, HEARTLAND MUSEUM OF MILITARY VEHICLES, the NATIONAL (this one encompasses the whole country Alex!!!) MUSEUM OF ROLLER SKATING in Lincoln, and my personal favorite (-ly named), THE MUSEUM OF THE ODD also in Lincoln.
Sadly Alex, based on your location, I'm guessing that you're not going to venture very far into the east or central parts of Nebraska (the 'interesting parts') so your left with almost none of the previous sightseeing extravaganzas, in fact all you have left is the MUSEUM OF FUR TRADE in Chadron, the CARHENGE in Alliance, and CHIMNEY ROCK in Bayard. Other then those three distractions, you're going to have to make up your own fun in Nebraska.
Good luck with that.
chimney rock is where the aliens touched down in "close encounters of the third kind". Speilberg. great Movie. Look it up.
Hey Alex,
This is cousin Laura. We missd you at the duck hunt, but are excited for your adventure! Thanks for going on this trip and postng a blog. As a suburban stay at home mom, I need every possible means available to break up the dole drums. Just suffice it to say I am living out exciting adventures vicariously through you.
Hope you get to Nebraska without needing skis for your bike. I saw a picture of "car henge" in National Geographic once (Devons post), stop if you can... corney but memorable.
We'll see your family at the cabin next weekend and get more updates from them. In the mean time... bike hard, bike safe.

I just saw in the news today that Nebraska has this law that you can drop off babies at hospitals no questions asked (it's better than throwing them in a dumpster) but they didn't specify an age so a parents are dropping off teenagers and stuff.
I honestly thought you were going to say that the mammoths fell into the pits while riding bicycles. Oh well. In any case, look out for muddy holes.
Devin- Wow, thanks man. I missed every one of those attractions, although I did see a sign for Carhenge . Seriously though man, the info was awesome, It was really great of you to put that stuff up.
Aunt Laura- Great to here from you on the blog! Feel free to live vicariously through my trip whenever you're feeling bored, I don't mind at all!
