You know it's a bad headwind when you have to pedal to go downhill.

I just about wet myself reading about Laurine and the library sprinkler. It is great to follow your adventure and I've shared it with some other prospective students who were interested when I told them your story.

Keep peddling and getting as many free refills as you can!

Jon- Glad you like it! Yeah, feel free to show the blog to anyone who is interested, I'd like as many people reading as possible! How's the weather in Beloit?

Weather is perfect for October...highs in the 60's with lows in the 40's. Our kids grew their own pumpkins for Halloween and they are ripening on the front porch, waiting to go under the knife. If you're around the Cities over New Years, I'm going to be up there January 2-4 if you want to get together.

If everything goes as it is (loosely) planned, I will be back in the Minneapolis area a few days before christmas, and I will be staying for about a month. Sounds like our paths will cross!

Hey Alex,

Great photos, but I would like to see some more self portraits. This way we can get a sense of the weather seeing how you are clad. Plus it will give you a photo time line of the transition from mountaineer to lean/mean biking machine. Hope you find a good Chineese buffet tonight.

Love, Dad

Hahaha that is an amazing and ridiculous old woman. When you're 90 you'll be sitting on the porch in ur rockin'chair with your grandkids huddled around your feet and you'll be like well back in my day...and you'll tell them these stories and you'll seem like the heroic lone ranger fighting crime into the distance while trying to survive nature's terrors. I very much enjoyed this read. And I second in agreement with your pops to put more pictures of you up as well. We all want to see how long your hair is, that would confuse an old woman into thinking your a lady. keep riding the terrain!

Dad- I actually did find a
all-you-can-eat chinese buffet yesterday. It was called "China One Buffet." It had a huge array of options, and it was the lunch buffet so it was $5.50!! I had four plates of food plus two bowls of sofserve icecream.

Amelia- I will work on the self portraits. They can be tricky because I need something at the right height to set the camera on. Grandchildren? I don't like kids Amelia. And apparently they are gathered around my feet? Beggers! These 'grandchildren' sound more like street urchins to me! To the workhouse with them!

Nick Ray- Will do man, I'm glad you like what I write, and I'll do my best to keep it interesting. Hey, if Nebraska didn't make the blog boring, how could Colorado?
